Adrian Chiles has revealed that he has undergone an operation after being diagnosed with cancer.
The TV presenter and columnist confirmed that he had an operation to remove a patch of skin on his shoulder.
A biopsy after the procedure confirmed that it was indeed cancerous.
He revealed the news in one of his notorious columns for The Guardian in which he told readers that thankfully it is "nothing serious".
The type of skin cancer he was diagnosed with is the kind caused by an overproduction of squamous cells in the epidermis, the top layer of skin.
The 58-year-old told readers how he booked an appointment with a dermatologist after noticing the change to his shoulder.
Chiles wrote about his worry as the patch was removed to check if it was cancerous.
He also spoke about the long wait to get results, struggling to get in contact with someone who could help.
He eventually learned that he wouldn't get his results until December 18 via app.
Chiles wrote: "By now I wanted to flush my phone down the toilet. This crap masquerades as communication, but communication is either two-way or it's nothing."
After chasing up again his results, he finally received them back from a nurse.
He added: "The human contact feels as good as any treatment or cure."
