Eight held on suspicion of attempted murder after Bromley stabbing at KFC

Detectives investigate stabbing outside London KFC

The group in custody includes the four people who were injured during the incident, as well as four other boys aged between 14 and 17. All eight have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The incident happened on Bromley High Street at around 2.15pm on Thursday, prompting a major emergency response. 

Metropolitan Police officers, ambulance crews and an air ambulance were sent to the area after reports of an altercation involving several people.

A 21-year-old man was among those injured, alongside three teenagers aged 14 to 17. He was initially in a critical condition but is now believed to be out of life-threatening danger.

KFC breaks its silence after the incident

Witnesses said the confrontation began as a fight before moving outside the restaurant. One customer claimed a man carrying a machete was seen fleeing the area, while a nearby business owner also reported seeing the fight spill onto the street.

KFC described the incident at its Bromley High Street branch as “serious” and said it was working with police while supporting its staff and customers.

Detectives are still piecing together what happened and have said the incident is being treated as isolated.
