Andy Burnham's father has died following a battle with Alzheimer's, Downing Street has confirmed.
It was announced today, Monday, 14 September, that the prime minister's father, Roy Burnham, had died.
Burnham has cancelled his engagements for today and tomorrow.
He was due to meet with business leaders later this evening.
The PM has previously spoken about his father living with the disease, saying he did not know his son had become the leader of the UK.
He also referenced his father when talking about social care reform.
