Mann was flooded with messages following the news, with other contestants also sharing their condolences in the comment section. Cleaning hero Mrs Hinch, musician Tom Grennan and Lewis Capaldi all commented on the initial post.
Simon Cowell, 62, told TMZ that he plans on reaching out to Mann, who he worked with on the popular competition show.
"As a father myself, I cannot simply imagine the heartbreak Tom and his family are going through and I will be personally reaching out to him," he said. "From my family to his, we extend our deepest condolences and all of our love during this tragic time."
