Prince Harry and Meghan’s first dance was to an absolute classic at the royal wedding

You’ll be happy to know that the royal wedding #content is nearing its natural conclusion

Yeh I know, we had joy, we had fun and all that, but you’ll be pleased to know that the royal wedding is over and with it, the stream of analysis and reports about exactly what went on at the ceremony and afterparty is over too. Well, almost.

Because an important detail has emerged about the wedding that you should probably know about as it’s actually pretty funny.

The first dance is an important part of any wedding. Obviously, there’s the Louis Armstrong number ‘We Have All The Time In The World’ – a classic choice – then you get people opting for something slightly more uptempo stuff in the search of the hollow validation of social media engagement.

But what do the royal family choose on their big day?

We can’t speak for all of them, but on Saturday Harry and Meghan chose to have their first dance to a disco anthem: Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’.

The song was the bookies favourite as the newly anointed Duchess of Sussex mentioned to Lifestyle Magazine in 2016 that it was her “happy song”.

Apparently, afterward actor Idris Elba got on the decks and then celeb DJ Sam Totolee took over, under instructions to avoid any cheese. Sounds one hell of a night.
