Mum gives birth to 2ft tall baby weighing a huge 16lbs

The only clothes that fit him are usually for babies aged a year old

A woman in Brazil has given birth to a giant baby measuring two feet and weighing a hefty 16 pounds. Angerson Santos was welcomed into the world via C-section at Hospital Padre Colombo in Parintins, Amazonas State, on Wednesday, January 18. He is believed to be the biggest baby ever born in the state, beating the previous record of 13lb and 1.8ft. His mum - 27-year-old Cleidiane Santos dos Santos - had visited the hospital for a routine obstetric consultation.

But it wasn't long before doctors realised that the unborn baby Angerson would be too big for her to carry to full term, so they decided to keep her in for a C-section, the Mail reports.

He has since been in an incubator but is in a stable condition and has no abnormalities. According to Guinness World Records, that title belongs to Sig. Carmelina Fedele, who weighed a staggering 10.2 kilogrammes (22lb 8oz) when he was born in Aversa, Italy, in September 1955.
