Every garden needs a hidden beer bunker like this one

Open sesame

Matt Tate

When the inevitable zombie apocalypse arrives, you need to prepared  for everything.

Last week we told you about the Russian guy who has a freshly brewed beer pipeline that runs all the way to his kitchen sink.

We thought this had set the gold standard for beer-related house mods. We were wrong.

Peter Götting has installed an underground beer fridge in his back garden – a booze bunker, if you will – and it’s as cool as it sounds.

Operating on three tiers, the fridge looks like it can stock at least 20 bottles, and the mechanism that moves it up and down is controlled by a lever attached to the house. The top doubles up as a stand for a plant pot, making it brilliantly inconspicuous.

Mowing the lawn need never be a chore again.
