McDonald’s is launching a VIP restaurant with butlers and a string quartet

You will need a reservation...

No, you’re not dreaming. This is really happening

You might be familiar with The Signature Collection, the fancy gourmet-style burger range that McDonald’s has launched to turn your heads from the great British staples of the Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the Big Mac, but did you know they are now about to make things even fancier?

McDonald’s has announced it will launch its first reservation-only luxury restaurant for one day only in Kensington on 15 August that will see customers welcomed to their table by a string quartet and dine with diamond-encrusted cutlery within rich velvet curtains.

Not actual diamonds, obviously. People would be nicking forks. But still, they will be shiny and look appropriately elegant as you ignore them and stuff one of the top of the range burgers in your face with two hands.

Online reservations will open today, but places are limited with a two-day window so act fast if you want to invite your next Tinder date out for a Maccies.

Just picture it, you’ll be given a choice of the Classic, BBQ or Spicy Signature Burger all served to you under a silver cloche by white-gloved butlers.

To reserve a place at McDonald’s Kensington High Street, a very appropriate location, sign-up here.

Otherwise – with table service already available in 93% of McDonald’s in the UK – you can always find your nearest serving The Signature Collection and enjoy your favourite burger, minus the butlers.

Depending on the success of the pilot – and whether the lucky burger-lovers actually do make it through the meal without requesting ‘Despacito’ from the string quartet – McDonald’s could look to roll VIP experiences out to more locations on special occasions in the future.

Happy eating.
