Pigs in blanket cheesecake is now a thing you can have for Christmas dinner

JOE

Is this something you’d want on Christmas Day?

Pigs in blanket are a Christmas staple – the big day jut isn’t the same if you don’t have them with your turkey.

But what if instead of having them with the main Christmas dinner, you had them in a cake?

Well, you can now. Fancy cake company Pleesecake have made a pigs in blanket cheesecake.

Before you feel slightly sick, we should point out that this is a savoury cheesecake, which we can see going quite nicely with sausages and bacon.

Hilariously dubbed ‘The Notorious P.I.B.’ the cake costs £26 and serves 10 to 12 people.

“The most controversial Pleesecake to date!” reads the description.

“This savoury cheesecake will make the perfect Christmas or Boxing day centre piece. With a cheddar cheese with thyme oatmeal base, a savoury cheesecake filling with pigs in blankets, fresh thyme and fresh sage. Topped with a caramelised onion chutney, crispy pigs in blankets and fresh sprigs of thyme and rosemary.”

The reaction to the pigs in blankets cheesecake has been very varied on social media, with some loving the idea, and others being revolted.

“This has made my day,” said one Twitter user.

“So should we be now expecting the four horsemen of the apocalypse?” said another, who was more sceptical.

“I felt my arteries hardening just typing that sentence,” was maybe the most accurate response though.
