"This isn't just any sandwich..."

M&S has launched an LGBT sandwich in the UK and Ireland to celebrate pride. To appropriate fulfil the acronym the fillings are lettuce, guacamole, bacon and tomato, all served in colourful rainbow packaging. The sandwich is priced between £3 and £3.85 depending on store location. The high street supermarket is also donating £10,000 to the national LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness charity AKT (Albert Kennedy Trust) and €1000 to BeLong to Youth Services to LGBTI+ people in Ireland in support of Pride 2019. Reaction to the sandwich has been divided, with some accusing the brand of piggybacking on the LGBT cause to profit from the 'pink pound' whilst others were unhappy with the inclusion of bacon rather than a vegetarian alternative for 'B'. In contrast, there were many that praised the supermarket for supporting the movement and raising awareness. https://twitter.com/LouisStaples/status/1124231397269483520 https://twitter.com/PositiveLad/status/1124021118229188612 https://twitter.com/RossMcCaff/status/1123946292995088390 https://twitter.com/Jonb1408/status/1123528645363019777 https://twitter.com/jolliffseville/status/1123915332899438594
