Sweep the leg!

In 1984, the original Karate Kid taught us that fear, pain and defeat does not exist in the Cobra Kai dojo but despite a relatively ‘passable’ modern day version of The Karate Kid which starred Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, the original cast are refusing to bow down to the modern generation.

Yes, that’s right Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) are returning as their duel spills over into a new 10-episode series. It is set 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, and revolves around Johnny reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, in search of redemption.

This reignites his rivalry with successful car dealership owner and family man Daniel, who is struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi (the late Pat Morita).

Here’s the teaser trailer that shows Daniel and Johnny come face to face for the first time in over three decades…
