James Cameron has told fans to look forward to the release of Terminator: Genisys, which he considers to be the 'third film' in the blockbuster franchise.
Cameron, who first brought The Terminator to cinemas in 1984 and returned with Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991, has previously said that the first two movies "told the story" in a snub to 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and 2009’s Terminator Salvation.
However, the Avatar director has had a change of heart since watching Arnold Schwarzenegger's return in the latest instalment.
“I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated, like this is a renaissance,” said Cameron. “The new film, which I think of as the third film, you see (Arnold Schwarzenegger) take the character even further.
“I had no idea what to expect sitting down, I had no involvement in making this film. If you like the Terminator films, you’re going to love this movie.”
