With The Wire being The Wire, the gritty US actors don't shy away from calling a spade a spade - especially when in comes to the tautological.
Fair is fair, it's one of the greatest TV dramas ever produced, but as sure as eggs is eggs, every scene brings yet another peach.
You can't help but admire how they manage to shoehorn them into every scene - and seeing them lumped together makes hilarious viewing.
Our favourites are "a ball is a ball", "the street is the street" and "a snitch is a snitch".
