We've always had Tom Hanks down as a classy guy, with his everyman persona and old-school charm. But he went and ruined it all by appearing on the Late Show and attempting to persuade a rather unimpressed David Letterman that selfie sticks are the future. Not only does Hanks nearly break the thing, but he tries convincing Letterman that it's not naff because they sell 'selfies' in Florence, "the birthplace of the Renaissance". Yes Tom.
