Liberating the visuals for her latest single, Tinashe pairs an underground Fight Club-esque video with Lady Gaga fashion etiquette to bring "No Drama" to life.
Featuring Migos rapper Offset, the single comes after Tinashe teased fans with sneak peeks and billboards plastered all over Sunset Boulevard, California. Produced by multi-platinum selling production team Stargate, it's a lyrically aggressive number that is now readily available everywhere you can stream music.
The explosive set of visuals sees Tinashe dance her way through an abandoned building that could so easily be used for an underground MMA fight tournament. Parading through the stone halls like the queen that she is, the "2 On" singer channels a Lady Gaga "Poker Face" sense of style, complete with faux diamond studded bikini and matching shorts.
The 24-year-old multi-hyphenated Aquarian is readying the release of her third studio album, Joyride, set to arrive sometime this year. Looking to follow up the success of Aquarius - it hit Top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2014 and popped up on multiple year-end lists - it's obvious that she has it in her to offer something as big as "2 On" again.
With co-signs from Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj - who she toured alongside - as well as Kanye West, exciting times lay ahead for Tinashe. Not bound by anyone’s box or idea of who or what Tinashe means, she embraces the gray area and continues to prepare the next chapter of her story.
Could "No Drama" play a part in this? Opting to recruit Migos' Offset instead of his in demand bandmate Quavo was a ballsy move. But with his sudden wave of popularity at an all-time high - due in part to his public relationship with the hottest female rapper on the planet right now, Cardi B - perhaps Tinashe got ahead of the curve and has put together a winter smash. You decide.
