This new Russian superhero film is all kinds of amazing batshit awesomeness

Yes, that is a bear with a shotgun. Ace.

We’re still a bit shaky on the plot intricacies of new Russian superhero film, Zaschitniki, but we *do* know it features a bear with a shotgun, so we’ll be giving it a watch.

Zaschitniki, aka Guardians, is a new Russian made film that’s had social media in raptures thanks to its delightfully off the wall trailer.

How off the wall? Well…

From what we understand, the film will sees a group of men and women from different corners of the former USSR band together to fight villainy. So far, so standard, but the special rub here is our heroes have been subjected to a DNA-augmenting programme that gives them special powers.

Yer new bear buddy with the machine gun is called Arsus, btw. He’ll be working as the Incredible Hulk style heavy alongside the Winter Soldier styled ninja Khan, a Black Widow themed spy called Xenia, and a cool looking telekinetic chap called Len.

Looks like a nice slice of crispy, dumb, fun – perfect as a weirdo curio for the superhero fan wanting something new.

Or even the post pub goer who wants something weird to watch with one eye open.

Guardians is due for a Russian release on the 23rd February. We’ll be keeping tabs on it. If only to watch  6ft+ man bear with a machine gun toast some baddies.
