There’s a new winter Love Island-style dating show on the way

We won't have to wait until summer 2018 for a similar show

Love Island 2017 is rapidly becoming a distant memory.

Now, weeks on from its final, it seems we might not have to wait until next summer for a similar show.

Love Island bosses are swapping Mallorca for South Africa in their new winter dating show.

The new series, called Survival of the Fittest, follows the tried and tested formula from the hit ITV2 summer series.

A group of young, hot singletons will be living together in the South African savannah as they compete for a cash prize in the “ultimate battle of the sexes”.

But much like their Love Island counterparts, contestants will be going on “romantic dates” – this time, to “test their loyalties to the limit”.

And viewers will still hold the power to decide who stays and who goes.

Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, Paul Mortimer said:

“ITV2’s younger audience will no doubt relish the escapism this immersive physical game show from sunny South Africa will provide next winter.

“Like Love Island before it, this series’ nightly mixture of fun challenges and burgeoning relationships ought to be must see.”

Survival of the Fittest will air on ITV2 in winter 2018. As things stand, we’re unclear of when it will first air.
