The name of the new Star Wars film has been released

We've had The Force Awakens. We've had Rogue One. Now the name of the next instalment of the Star Wars saga has been revealed.

On December 15th 2017, everyone will be flocking to the cinema to see the eighth canonical Star Wars film, The Last Jedi. After months (probably years in some of the more hardcore sections of the Star Wars fanbase) of speculation name was confirmed from the official Star Wars Twitter account. https://twitter.com/starwars/status/823561256078548992 Directed by Rian Johnson, the film will pick up where Episode VII left off. Little is known about the plot at this stage, but the name (and ending of The Force Awakens) suggests that it will concentrate on Luke Skywalker. This will be the last film role for Carrie Fisher, who sadly passed away in December 2016.
