The 1990s X-Men animated series could possibly be making a comeback, as the show's creative team revealed that there have been talks with Disney about producing new episodes.
During a virtual panel at the online Wizard World convention, producer of the show Larry Houston confirmed that they had spoken to Disney.
“We’ve had talks, but that’s about it,” Houston said. “We’ve made conversation and it’s up to them to make the decision, but we’ve let them know that we’re all available for whatever they want to do in the future.”
Houston said that he'd like to bring the show back “if we could do a special, a one-off episode, or a five-part episode.”
“Whatever they wanted to do if we had all the original team. That’s what I would come out of retirement for.”

Before the X-Men movies made Hugh Jackman a household name, the X-Men animated series introduced Marvel's mutants to a whole generation of kids.
The show ran from 1992 to 1997, for 76 episodes across five seasons. The show won acclaim from comic book fans for its faithful adaptations of classic Marvel stories.
Complicated epics like Days of Future Past and The Dark Phoenix Saga were not dumbed down for cartoons. Instead, the show brought the wonderful world of sprawling superhero comics to a new audience.
X-Men would also cross over with the Spider-Man show of the same era, with them mutants popping up on Spidey's cartoon.
It also had one of the catchiest theme tunes ever recorded.

The entire series is on Disney+ is you fancy a bit of nostalgia, or introducing younger family members to it.
Since the show ended in 1997, there have been multiple other X-Men cartoons, including X-Men Evolution, and Wolverine and the X-Men, but none have had quite the same cultural footprint. It is easy to imagine that if it had not been for the cartoon's success, we would have never have got all the movies and spin-offs that followed.
