Real Housewives star rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery

Awful news

Reality TV star, Teddi Mellencamp has shared a heartbreaking health update, revealing that she has been diagnosed with multiple brain tumours.

Mellencamp, best known for her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from seasons 8 to 10, has been open about her long fight against melanoma, undergoing more than 20 surgeries to remove cancerous spots from her body.

Taking to Instagram, Mellencamp detailed the alarming symptoms that led to her most recent diagnosis.

“For the last several weeks, I’ve been experiencing severe and debilitating headaches,” she said. “Yesterday, the pain became unbearable, and I had to be hospitalised.”

Medical tests, including a CT scan and MRI, uncovered multiple tumours on her brain, which doctors believe have been developing for at least six months.

“Two of the tumours will be surgically removed today,” she shared, adding that the smaller ones will be treated with radiation at a later date.

Despite the devastating news, Mellencamp said she was thankful for the unwavering support from her loved ones and medical team.

“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to help me recover.”

She also thanked those who had reached out with encouragement and support.

This update follows years of advocacy from Mellencamp about skin cancer awareness.

Earlier this month, she marked World Cancer Day by posting a graphic image of a surgery scar from her ongoing battle with melanoma.

“It’s #WorldCancerDay, so I’d like to remind you to get your skin checks scheduled,” she urged her followers.

Mellencamp has been so open about her journey with melanoma, recently speaking on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast.

In the interview, she recalled having a noticeable patch on her shoulder since birth and later developing marks on her back that she had dismissed as sun spots.

“I didn’t take it seriously,” she admitted, “I didn’t realise how serious skin cancer could be.”

“Who’s making their appointment today?” she asked in a recent post, adding hashtags to promote melanoma awareness.
