Soak plays surprise live gig for passengers aboard the Glastonbury train

Soak it up...

Ben Kenyon

There’s no better way to gear up for Glastonbury than sticking some tunes on in the car to get you revved up.

That was until Great Western Trains went one better.

Rather than bothering finding a Glasto-themed CD, they just got one of the festival’s acts playing live on the train instead.

Songwriter Soak treated festival-goers to an intimate gig aboard the Glastonbury train as they headed off to the hallowed fields.

Normally you just get drunks singing football chants, so this surprise gig looked a real treat.

The 18-year-old singer said: “There was a real electric atmosphere in the carriage and it certainly got me geared up for my Glastonbury performance this weekend.”

If you weren’t one of the lucky passengers on that train, you can catch Soak on The Other Stage on Sunday between noon and 12:40pm.
