Plenty of bands have been known to make weird and wonderful purchases in the middle of exhaustive tours, but New Found Glory have taken it to a new level after buying a thoroughbred horse.
The American punk band’s guitarist Chad Gilbert bought the animal, which was hours away from being slaughtered, and named it New Found Glory – because you need that bit of egotism to make it in the music business.

New Found Glory are playing the Reading and Leeds festivals this summer, but sadly they won’t be joined on the bill by the likes of Foals and Band of Horses.
Perhaps they’ll find a way of touring with Animal Collective…
