For many, especially the younger generation, Craig has become the iconic James Bond; the 53-year-old, along with the arrival of Sam Mendes for Skyfall, brought a level of grit and darkness to the role.
Pierce Brosnan was, arguably, the last of the more tongue in cheek Bond films; the upcoming film, which is now set for a September 30th release date after multiple delays, is set to see the same serious tone carried over but with a return of all the glorious gadgets and glorious espionage tropes that the series is known for.
Regardless of who takes up the mantle next, one thing is for sure, we've had a pretty good so far and we dare say with a British cinema institution like Bond, the powers that be will make sure they pick someone fit for the task.
