One of the scariest films of all time is being turned into a West End play this Halloween

If you look at any of the Top 10 Scariest Movies lists, you'll almost always find The Exorcist up there.

Despite being over 40 years old, the story of Reagan's possession and the priests' battle to free her from the grip of the devil still strikes a chilling chord with audiences today. Decades on from when it was originally released, The Exorcist is being reborn in a new guise: a West End theatre production. Based on William Peter Blatty's classic book of the same name, The Exorcist will be "unleashed onto the West End stage for the very first time in a uniquely theatrical experience directed by Sean Mathias and adapted for the stage by John Pielmeier," a press release said. "The Exorcist will play a strictly limited run at the Phoenix Theatre from 20 October 2017 to 10 March 2018. Tickets will go on general sale at 4pm on Friday 11 August."
