What does Independence Day mean to you? For many film fans outside the United States, it can only mean one thing.

While Americans celebrate getting their independence two centuries ago, us Brits will cast our mind back just 19 years to Roland Emmerich's disaster film, and Bill Pullman's inspiring speech.
