The Sinner already know that Cora (Jessica Biel) won't be back for the next season but Detective Harry Ambrose is returning with a new case to solve.
Season 2 sees Detective Ambrose (Pullman) called back to his hometown in rural New York to assess an unsettling and heart-wrenching crime. After two parents are murdered by their 11-year-old son, there appears to be no apparent motive for this brutal incident.
Just like the central hook to the beloved original season, the new episodes will focus on the 'why' rather than the 'who' of the murder.
Ultimately, Ambrose realises that there’s nothing ordinary about the boy or where he came from.
With each passing episode, the investigation pulls him into the hidden darkness of his hometown where he's pitted against those who’ll stop at nothing to protect their secrets.
This being said, a mysterious woman (Carrie Coon) proves to be a complicated, and enigmatic piece to this haunting puzzle.
Season 2 of The Sinner airs on Netflix from 9 November.
