Fans will be delighted.
It’s time to rev up because, in a move that would surprise absolutely nobody, the Fast & Furious franchise is returning for the ninth time.
Given the fact that The Fate of the Furious made a bajillion, zillion, gillion at the box-office (official figures here), the announcement comes as no surprise and truth be told, we’re very happy.
While detractors of the series might treat this announcement with some cynicism, the last film was actually a load of fun. It’s the cinematic equivalent of getting drunk, having a blast and remembering absolutely nothing about it.
Who needs a plot? Yep, that’s the appeal of Dom, Hobbs, Roman and co.
Hell, The Fate of the Furious also had Kurt ‘fricking’ Russell and the kicks-ass Charlize Theron. If they can top that cast in the next film, we’re already there.
At present, no director or cast members have been announced – here’s hoping that the Rock and Ludacris have ended their little quarrel – but we already know what we’re going to be watching on April 10th, 2020.
Given how insane the action in the saga has been so far, there’s only one way that the creators can go – cars vs guns vs dragons…in space…with time travel and zombies.
It makes sense.
