Viewers said he looked ‘livid’

National Television Awards viewers spotted the moment Martin Lewis looked ‘raging’ as he lost out to Stacey Solomon.

Lewis’ show, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live was nominated in the Factual Entertainment category alongside Gogglebox, Clarkson’s Farm and The Yorkshire Vet but they all went home empty-handed as Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out scooped the award.

Solomon couldn’t contain her excitement as the name of her show was read out.

However, as the camera flicked to show the reactions of her fellow nominees, viewers clocked Lewis looking less than impressed.

Viewers flocked to social media to comment on his reaction. One fan said: “You could tell Martin Lewis was raging he wanted to win he’s sitting there thinking I do all this s** for what nothing.”

Another commented: “Martin Lewis didn’t look too happy.”

While a third said: “Martin Lewis is fuuuuming.” A fourth added: “Martin Lewis is livid.”

Solomon was joined on stage by her eldest son Zach, 18, as she thanked all the families who had allowed her and the crew into their homes.

She collected the trophy dressed in a strapless red satin dress with a pair of black satin gloves as she collected the trophy.

She said: “It’s the hardest show ever to make and they work so so hard. My amazing co-presenters. I’m so grateful I get to do a show like this, I want to thank the families who let us into their homes. If it wasn’t for the families, who opened their hearts to us, there wouldn’t be no Sort Your Life Out.”

She went on to thank husband Joe Swash and their five children. After collecting her award she told press: “I was not ready I didn’t know where to go – no one told us! We were an absolute mess, I don’t know what I said in the speech! I can only apologise! It means the absolute world – I don’t think anyone can comprehend how hard people work to make Sort Your Life Out to happen.”

She praised the ‘huge’ team that ‘works to the bone’ to bring the show to people’s screens before saying her co-stars are like family.

Lewis was also nominated for the Television Expert award but lost out to Sir David Attenborough.
