Netflix photoshop fail leaves movie cover model with impossible body

Can you spot what's wrong?

Rich Cooper

We all make mistakes.

Some of us are forgetful. Some of us are clumsy. Some of us have eyes bigger than our stomachs and just can’t help ordering the mac and cheese as well as the burger and fries, knowing full well that we’ll never finish it but goddamn it we want it anyway, which is in no way a mistake that this writer continually makes and never seems to learn from.

Mistakes happen, and most of the time we’re lucky enough to get away with them or have no one notice, thus allowing us to rectify our errors. Sometimes, unfortunately, our mistakes are distributed across major movie streaming services with millions of subscribers.

That’s what happened with this Netflix cover image for the movie The Babysitter. The design, though it is very cool, has given the person at the centre of the image a AAA (accidental anatomical abnormality, as no one calls it). Can you spot what the problem is?

Got it? No? Take at look at the thumbs on their hands. Notice how they’re both pointing the same way?

That’s right: the knife-and-sandwich-wielding babysitter has two right hands. According to the movie synopsis, the babysitter is part of a satanic cult; whether having two right hands is a prerequisite in joining the cult is unclear, but it’s certainly a possibility.

Maybe it forms a central part of the plot. Maybe we’re all fools and have been duped as such. Or maybe someone just made a mistake at work. Either way, at least you’re not this guy…
