Michael Bay set to direct Skibidi Toilet film

What in the Gen Alpha is this…

Michael Bay is set to direct a Skibidi Toilet film.

If you’re over the age of 21 you probably have never heard of a ‘Skibidi Toilet’ and if you’re unfortunate enough to have done, welcome to the brainrot thunderdome.

A product of internet surrealism, Skibidi Toilet is a somewhat terrifying genre of internet series which follows a war between toilets with human heads coming out of their bowls and humanoid characters with electronic devices for heads.

Yes, someone has really brainstormed that idea and made it into a 26 season-long show with 78 episodes.

Forget nuclear war, the robot uprising and overpopulation, it’ll be brainrot that dooms us before any of that stuff gets us…

For any Gen Zedders or Millennials out there just remember Creepypasta and Salad Fingers started all this.

Now, with a film based on the videos set to start production as reported by Discussing Film, who better to direct than Michael Bay, of course it’s Michael Bay…

The animated series is the brainchild of Alexey Gerasimov who first aired the show on YouTube on 7 February 2023.

The videos fall into the category of ‘machinima’ a portmanteau of the ‘machine’ and ‘cinema’ effectively using old video game engines to make rough animations which are then voiced over with narration.

The Skibidi Toilet series, for one reason or another, was an absolute viral hit with Gen Alpha which is anyone born from 2013 to present day.

In all credit to the show, the quality of the videos drastically increase from one-minute, mind-numbing, eye-scorching torture to fifteen-minute, high quality graphics, mind-numbing, eye-scorching tortue.

Clearly the huge audience has tempted filmmakers to try and bridge the gap between internet and mainstream media, with Michael Bay to lead the foray into the unknown it what will be an intriguing end product for certain.
