Marcel’s appearance on Love Island has brought about some exciting news for Blazin’ Squad fans

Keep those fingers crossed...

It might have escaped the attention of many regular Love Island viewers, but Marcel, one of the islanders on this year’s show, used to be in Blazin’ Squad.

Too young to know what the hell we’re on about? Fear not…

Following the 31-year-old’s stint on the ITV2 show this summer, it’s now being reported that the ten-strong noughties boy group, who are believed by some to have created ‘music’, will reunite in the weeks ahead.

According to a report in the The Sun, the group have already received several offers to reform and are in talks with music labels and promoters about the prospect of a tour. On top of this, they could even be releasing new material. Oh joy.

Since Marcel’s first appearance on the show earlier in the summer, streams of Blazin’ Squad songs have soared on Spotify – increasing an incredible 2500%.

Two of Marcel’s former Blazin’ Squad bandmates confirmed the exciting news while speaking to the Sun’s Bizarre column.

Chris McKeckney, who once went by the rather impressive alternative name of ‘Melo-D’, promised: “If we can make it happen, then we will.”

“It has to be done in the right way but we’re not against it.

“I think the first thing is, we’ve been doing a few shows, so to up that to a tour, if we were to do anything that would be the first point of call, see how that goes then who knows?”

Oliver Georgiou (aka Freek), added that the only potential stumbling block for such a reunion might be getting all ten of the Squad’s members back together at the same time.

“There are talks and offers, but we have to wait and see about Marcel’s time in the villa and have a chat.

“We’ve had record labels, we’ve had promoters and meetings with various people. There are a lot of diaries to consider, a lot of people to consider, it’s not just two or three people, it’s ten diaries to consider and it’s been a long time since we’ve done it properly, so there are a lot of options to weigh up.

“That’s the one thing. That’s the deciding factor.”

Keep those fingers crossed, Blazin’ Squad fans.
