High, high praise
A Liam Neeson movie has recently been added to Netflix and fans are labelling it as ‘Taken on ice’.
Cold Pursuit is a remake of 2014 Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance (Kraftidioten) in which Neeson stars as snowplough driver Nelson ‘Nels’ Coxman.
Nels aims to seek revenge on a group of drug dealers who killed his son only to spark off a feud between two rival drug cartels.
Netflix’s brief synopsis says: “In this icy revenge thriller, Nels Coxman sets out on a deadly rampage as he tracks down members of a Denver drug cartel who he believes killed his son, Kyle.”
Released back in 2019, Cold Pursuit has emerged as a favourite on Netflix and is top spot on the streaming service’s list.
Those who have watched it however have spotted plenty of similarities between Cold Pursuit and a Neeson classic, Taken.
“Liam Neeson’s movie Cold Pursuit = Taken on ice,” said one fan.
Another wrote: “Isn’t Cold Pursuit just Taken in the snow?!
“Time for the next movie on my list of over 40 titles. Cold Pursuit starring Liam Neeson. It’s basically Taken … in the cold! Lol, from what I hear, it’s a comedy too,” said a third.
A fourth commented: “Cold Pursuit with Liam Neeson is just Taken but in the winter.”
