At first glance, Leonardo DiCaprio’s upcoming film The Revenant has all the ingredients of an Oscar winner.
It blends an award-winning director (Birdman’s Alejandro Gonzalez Inarittu), a hugely talented supporting cast (including Brits Tom Hardy and Will Poulter) and expansive American landscapes.
Oh, and DiCaprio himself, playing trapper Hugh Glass in an 19th-century revenge thriller based on true events.
Leo has been nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars three times, for The Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Wolf of Wall Street.
Could this be fourth time lucky?
