Leonardo DiCaprio cast as Frank Sinatra in new Martin Scorsese film

Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly been cast as Frank Sinatra in a new Martin Scorsese project, via Variety.

The 49-year-old is set to star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, who will play the crooner’s wife Ava Gardener.

The pair have previously worked together on Don’t Look Up.

DiCaprio and Scorsese, however, have worked together multiple times. The duo are one of the most prolific actor-director pairings working today, with projects such as Gangs of New YorkThe AviatorThe DepartedShutter Island, and The Wolf of Wall Street under their belts.

Their latest film, Killers of the Flower Moon, was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including a nod for Best Director for Scorsese.

News of a Frank Sinatra biopic is one that fans are welcoming, and they have responded to the news of DiCaprio’s casting online.

“Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Sinatra & Jennifer Lawrence as Ava Gardner is amazing casting,” one person wrote.

A second put: “This is going to be so GOOD!! We’re all watching!”

While a third penned: “This makes sense. Pretty perfect casting.”
