The episode had been filmed before Lock's recent passing
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire viewers have criticised a joke made by host Jeremy Clarkson about late comedian Sean Lock.
Lock passed away from cancer earlier this year but it appeared that an episode of
Millionaire guest starring comedian Jimmy Carr had been filmed before he had died.
During one segment, Carr used the 'phone a friend' lifeline after Clarkson confirmed that the 'ask the audience' option had been removed due to concerns over spreading covid.
Carr responded by saying: "I thought that was just because people preferred Tarrant," name checking Chris Tarrant, the original
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host who left the show in 2014.
Carr noticed how shocked the audience were by his response and Clarkson said: "That's because they were promised Sean Lock."
Many viewers were shocked by how the comment had been left in the show and not edited out since Lock's death in August, aged 58.

However, other viewers claimed Sean himself would have found the joke funny.

A firm favourite among fellow comics, Lock was a team captain on the hit panel show
8 Out Of 10 Cats, which Jimmy frequently appears on.
