Home Alone fans are freaking out over a piece of trivia about the film
Very few people were aware of this...
Home Alone is one of the most iconic Christmas movies, and one of the most memorable scenes in it is when Kevin McCallister freaks out a pizza boy by playing dialogue from an old-timey gangster movie that features the line "Keep the change, ya filthy animal" before spraying his machine gun at his victim.
In Home Alone, this movie is referred to as Angels With Filthy Souls... But fans of the movie have been shocked to learn that there is no such film — and that the scene was shot purely so it could be included in the 1990 Christmas classic.
This tidbit of earth-shattering information was tweeted out by actor Seth Rogen on Christmas Day, and since then movie-lovers across social media have been in utter disbelief.
Writing on Twitter yesterday, the Pineapple Express actor wrote: "My entire childhood, I thought the old timey movie that Kevin watches in Home Alone (Angels With Filthy Souls) was actually an old movie."
Turns out that most people were in the same boat.
My entire childhood, I thought the old timey movie that Kevin watches in Home Alone (Angels With Filthy Souls) was actually an old movie.

Me too. And then when the sequel came out and he watches the fake sequel, I thought, “Oh, so that’s why they chose it. In case they made a Home Alone 2.”

I was today years old when I found out that the old gangster movie that Kevin watches in Home Alone, isn’t a real movie. “Angels With Filthy Souls” is a fictional movie within a fictional movie. Merry Christmas, YA FILTHY ANIMALS!!! pic.twitter.com/Ezidu3iPHl

Did you know the black and white movie Kevin is watching in Home Alone isn’t a real movie? I just found that out

It seems an awful lot of people are just now figuring out Harry is disguised as the cop at the beginning of Home Alone and Angels With Filthy Souls isn’t a real movie and I have maybe never felt smarter in my life.
