Gogglebox’s June pays emotional tribute to husband Leon

June Bernicoff has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband Leon who passed away yesterday.

The couple, who were one of the first to be cast on Channel 4's Gogglebox, had been together for over 60 years. Leon passed away yesterday at the age of 83. Channel 4 has confirmed that it will air a tribute to Leon before his final episode tonight on Christmas Eve. The last episode of the series will be 'going ahead as planned' but the channel will be making a comment on Leon's death before the start of the episode, a spokesperson said. Following this, tributes soon began pouring in from fans, friends, and fellow cast members of the show. Late last night, June took to her's and Leon's joint Twitter account to share her own message about her husband and to thank others for their kind words. She wrote: Other Gogglebox stars have also taken to social media to share their condolences. Scarlett Moffat said on Twitter:

"Words can’t explain what you meant to so many people. From your words of encouragement to me to the little DMs. "Leon you were loved by so many. Sending my love to you and all of your family."

"To those of us that knew him personally, Leon was a man of unwavering principles who exerted a distinct paternal presence both on and off screen. "He will be dearly missed by the entire Gogglebox family; cast and crew.
