The story will be set in the period of time between Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
The release date for the eagerly-anticipated Game of Thrones prequel has been confirmed by a Warner Bros executive.
Fans of the franchise have been looking for something to satiate their appetite for the goings-on in Westeros ever since season 2 of House of the Dragon concluded in August.
With the third season of House of the Dragon scheduled to premiere sometime in mid to late 2026, fans will be delighted to hear that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will arrive on UK screens in mid-2025 – smack bang in the middle of the gap between House of the Dragon seasons.
Set 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the spin-off will follow Ser Duncan and his squire Egg as they travel through Westeros.

“Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
Filming began in Belfast, Northern Ireland in June 2024 and wrapped in September, with Peter Claffey starring as Ser Duncan the Tall.
Dexter Sol Ansell will star alongside Claffey as Egg. The cast also includes Finn Bennett (True Detective Season 4, The Nevers) as Aerion Targaryen, Bertie Carvel (Doctor Foster, The Crown) as Baelor Targaryen, Tanzyn Crawford (Swift Street, Servant) as Tanselle.
According to Warner Bros. Discovery global streaming chief JB Perrette, A Knight of the Seven Kingdom will come out sometime in the late summer/early autumn of next year.
According to Variety, the studio executive spoke at a tech conference earlier this week where he addressed the release date of several heavily-anticipated returns.
The Last Of Us season 2 is due for a spring 2025 release date, Euphoria season 3 is scheduled to come out in 2026, while White Lotus will hit screens as soon as February.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to introduce a new duo to fans of the franchise, Dunk and Egg.
