The former Skins star opened up on decision to join the subscription platform

Almost 20 years after her appearance on the critically acclaimed show taking place in Bristol, Skins, this actress has turned to the subscription based platform, Only Fans.

The series, featuring the likes of Nicolas Hoult and Daniel Kaluuya, followed the lives of British teenagers through a two year story line, devolving in subjects of substance abuse, sexuality, and mental illness.

Skins was notorious for bringing in amateur actors, changing the cast every two years.

Megan Prescott was one of these amateur actors who got a shot at the series, playing Katie Fitch along side her sister, Kathryn Prescott who played her twin sister, Emily Fitch.

However, Megan Prescott has opened up on her decision to join Only Fans, revealing making more money on the platform than when she appeared in Skins.

Although she made appearances on Doctors, EastEnders and Silent Witness, the actress struggled to get another big break.

Left with only £300 to her name, Prescott said that she "spent so many years in acting, trying to get things moving and nothing was happening.

"Going on OnlyFans and realising all this content that I was making for free, people would pay for and people would like to pay for, just changed my entire point of view and it really did improve my creative outputs."

The decision sparked from clips of the actress on Skins going viral just before the COVID-19 epidemic.

Thanks to the stream of income generated by OnlyFans, Megan was able to write and star in the play Really Good Exposure.

The show ran at the Soho Theatre in September last year and that is something she insisted she would "never" have been able to do without her platform.

However, the actress didn't stop at that. When asked if she felt judged by the idea of actors turning to Only Fans, she said yes, but urging others to do the same due to the possibilities it offered.

"From mainstream actors, I do sometimes get the feeling that they wish they could have the freedom that I do," said Prescott.

"Mainstream acting, you aren’t anywhere near as free to make your own decisions."

Prescott's admissions come just days after her fellow actress Jessie Cave explained that she had also found huge financial success through OnlyFans.
