Sherlock fans are among the most patient in the world, waiting years at a time between seasons which boast a mere three episodes.

There's a reason those fans are so loyal despite nine episodes airing in its entire five-year run. And with a trailer for the Christmas special being released at Comic-Con, fans can finally begin to get excited. The show's tenth episode is a very special one. Set in Victorian times and due to air on Christmas day, it will be a stand-alone episode — with reports that we will probably have to wait until 2017 for the next set of three episodes.
