Ella Eyre spends her day off subbing for Jess Glynne at Isle of Wight festival

Rightful Eyre...

Ella Eyre was subbed in at the last minute to perform for Jess Glynne at the Isle Of Wight festival.

Glynne had to pull out of the Saturday afternoon main stage slot due to suffering from a bad throat.

It might have been an impromptu call but Eyre, dressed in her staple catsuit, managed it with ease pulling in a huge crowd.

Speaking backstage, she told JOE: “It was touch and go whether Jessie could perform so I was on stand-by.

“It was meant to be a day off but of course I don’t mind, I love Isle of Wight and besides, the sun is shining.

“It was such fun, the crowd was great and they all sang along, that’s all you can ask for.

“I’m going to stick around for a little bit, it would be rude not to.”

Meanwhile backstage, David James conducted interviews for BT Sport.

The former England keeper chatted to former Spice Girls Mel C and Emma Bunton, who arrived on Saturday to watch headliners Pharrell Williams and Blur.

It’s fair to say he looked more comfortable with his gloves on.

Alex James came out of Blur’s trailer and sauntered around backstage before heading back with the boys.

He probably needed to stretch those long legs, or hit the cheese stand.
