His record ‘X’ has sold millions worldwide and he’s so famous he has a waxwork model – and now it’s time for Ed Sheeran to receive an honorary degree.
The 24-year-old singer, who was in the news this week for having a huge lion tattooed on his chest, will be presented with the diploma from University Campus Suffolk (UCS) in recognition of his outstanding contribution to music in a special ceremony later this year.

Ed, who left school at 16 to follow his music dream, said: “I’ve had an amazing year with my world tour and this makes it even better. Suffolk is very much where I call home and I’m always welcomed back and get so much support.”
The date of the ceremony is yet to be revealed, which is probably for the best given his legions of fans who would try to hijack the event.
