Coronation Street fans were fairly shocked by the death that occurred on last night’s episode of the show.
And they were more surprised that the death happened off-screen too.
Receptionist Katy Armstrong was killed off in a car accident in Portugal.
The news was broken to the street by her sister, Izzy, who took it upon herself to let everybody know the devastating news.

But the lads who live down in Weatherfield weren’t the only ones shocked and upset by the news of Katy’s death.

Some even started to convince themselves that the receptionist hadn’t died at all.

Katy was played by actress Georgia May Foote up until 2015.
Her character was then written out of the show before she headed off to live in Portugal with her mum.
After her departure from the cobbles, Foote appeared in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing where she placed runner-up.
The actress also came 98th in FHM’s sexiest women of 2015.
