Colin Farrell is in talks to star in a live-action remake of another beloved Disney classic

Perhaps it's not too much of a stretch...

The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast…

The live-action Disney remakes are coming thick and fast, and at the moment it seems as though Colin Farrell is set to get in on the act. The True Detective star is currently in talks to join the cast of Dumbo.

Hollywood Reporter has reported that while not much about the film is known, it is being helmed by Tim Burton of Edward Scissorhands fame, and that the live-action remake will go deeper into the story of the circus.

Colin Farrell has recently made another foray into another dark children’s fantasy movie, starring in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine him taking on Dumbo.

Deadline has further reported that if negotiations are finalised, Farrell will play a character called Holt, a widowed father of two from Kentucky. He’ll join Eva Green and Danny DeVito, who have already signed on for the project, in what’s shaping up to be a fairly star-studded cast.
