“It doesn’t actually seem real.”

The trailer for Channel 4’s Caroline Flack documentary is here.

Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death will explore the presenter’s early years, her steady rise to fame, and her tragic death at the height of her celebrity.

The intimate film will feature interviews from those closest to the star, including her mother Christine, her twin Jody, and friend and former Xtra Factor host, Olly Murs.

In a statement released this week, Channel 4 said: “We will hear from those closest to Caroline, delving beyond the headlines to reveal the complex woman behind the public persona, as well as exploring the pressures that fame, mental health, press and social media had on Caroline throughout her life.”

“Never before seen footage, childhood home videos and interviews with her mother, Christine, and twin sister, Jody, are all brought together in what promises to be an emotional, intimate and candid documentary.”

Flack passed away in her home just over one year ago. Previously, she had been charged with assault following an altercation with then-boyfriend Lewis Burton.

The former Love Island presenter had received much criticism online following the charges and was hounded by the press ahead of her trial. She died by suicide on February 15, 2020.

Caroline was best known for her work on the aforementioned Love Island. Before that she hosted Xtra Factor alongside Olly Murs and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here Now!

Channel 4’s new documentary will explore Caroline’s life through the words of those who knew her best. The film will “pay tribute to one of Britain’s biggest stars” through a host of home videos, personal stories, and intimate interviews.

There’s no release date for the documentary just yet, but once it airs on TV, it will also be available to stream on All4.
