Brutal assassin thriller from Fight Club director drops on Netflix today

With the nights drawing in, it’s safe to say that we are all looking for something else to keep us occupied in the evenings.

Netflix’s latest drop is about to fill that hole and then some with their latest movie from none other than Fight Club director David Fincher, a brutal assassin thriller titled The Killer.

Based on Alexis “Matz” Nolent and artist Luc Jacamon’s 1998 graphic novel of the same name, it has been hotly anticipated since the adaptation was first announced back in 2007.

However, it wasn’t until 2021 when the wheels began to roll and Fincher began working with Netflix on the flick.

Fincher’s former collaborator Andrew Kevin Walker, who he worked with on Se7en, adapted the screenplay.

It first screened at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this year, before its limited theatrical release last month.

Starring Michael Fassbender, The Killer follows a mysterious assassin who goes on an international manhunt battling his employers, and himself, yet insists the whole thing isn’t personal.

The rest of the cast includes big names such as Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard and Sophie Charlotte.

The film lands on Netflix today November 10.
