Britney Spears is pregnant with third child

Some more positive news following the end of her conservatorship

Britney Spears has announced she is pregnant with her third child at age 40 – and her fans are over the moon.

The much-loved pop sensation informed her Instagram followers of the exciting personal news on Monday night, posting a picture taken by her photographer and friend, Andrea McClain, before detailing how she and husband Sam Asghari are expecting.

As she explains in the lengthy caption, the songstress first twigged she might be pregnant again after regaining some weight which caused Asghari to joke, “No you’re food pregnant silly”. Turns out he was kind of on the money.

Still fresh from the relief of her high-profile conservatorship ending last September, Britney said “I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money [from a] shot of me”, going on to allude to some of the hardships she faced with her first two pregnancies – including perinatal depression.

“It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression… I have to say it is absolutely horrible… women didn’t talk about it back then… some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her”.

Unsurprisingly, Britney stans are made up for the 40-year-old, stating that she has “taken her life back” and is starting a new chapter after her ex, Kevin Federline, and legally controlling father, Jamie.

The couple announced their engagement back in September 2021, having been together since 2016 but always having struggled to enjoy a truly independent relationship given her complex conservatorship.

Congrats, Britney – we wish you all the best on having a baby one more time (sorry).
