Actor Tom Cruise has reportedly left his lavish apartment in London, as the Hollywood A-lister no longer felt safe living in the UK capital.
According to sources close to the American actor, Cruise, 63, has left the £35million luxury flat which overlooks Hyde Park, following high-profile crimes in the area.
Speaking to Daily Mail, a source close to the actor of the Mission: Impossible films said that he took the decision following a series of crimes, which culminated in a daylight robbery on the Bucherer boutique near his place of residence.
“The over aggressive attack on the store below cemented the lack of security surrounding the multi-million pound flats where Cruise lives”, the source said.
“He often loved to take a walk around the area but it seems like Knightsbridge is becoming less safe by the week. He just felt the area has declined in the past year or two”, it added.
And concierge staff at Cruise’s former apartment block were reportedly stunned by how quickly the actor left the neighbourhood, as removal boxes were seen being taken from the penthouse.

The source familiar with the actor added that “he loved London”, and that “it had become both his professional headquarters and a private playground. The decision to go happened fast.”
And according to locals, Cruise’s movements in the area were low-key, but well-known among staff in nearby hotels and shops.
The actor was often spotted heading out for early-morning runs along South Carriage Drive, directly opposite his building.
Police are still investigating the robbery incident, while no arrests have been announced so far.
Witnesses described a coordinated attack that was carried out by masked thieves on motorbikes, as they smashed their way into the shop with sledgehammers and “swinging machetes”, Daily Mail reported.
Around 20 high-value watches were stolen during the robbery that lasted just minutes, it has been reported.
According to the BBC, “the group left the stolen motorcycle they used to ram into the building inside the shop before riding off on four mopeds parked outside. No one was injured, the Metropolitan Police said”.
