Blind Date is making a comeback and it’s getting a makeover

No one will ever replace Cilla Black.

Anyone who grew up in the 90s is likely to have pangs of nostalgia for ‘Blind Date’.

Although no one will do the show’s original presenter, Cilla Black, and her legendary catchphrases justice, the Saturday night show is reportedly making a comeback nonetheless.

According to The Sun, it will return before the end of the year and will have a new home – Channel 5, rather than ITV.

There are a number of famous faces in the running to front the show including Vicky Pattison, Olly Murs, Scarlett Moffatt and Helen Flanagan.

A source told the publication that it won’t be Blind Date as we know it, either, with the traditional format getting a makeover.

The insider explained:

“Blind Date is the original dating show and it’s huge news to bring it back.

“It’s a classic format that will be rebooted to make it young, sexy and modern. Expect sparks to fly.

“In an age of Tinder, you have got to earn the right to love on this show”.

Let’s just hope that despite the significant changes, producers ensure the show has “lorra lorra laughs”.
