A 30-year-old woman from North Yorkshire has been jailed after posting a naked picture of a man she had sex with on social media
Yasmin Walker, of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, reportedly posted the image on Instagram after the victim confessed to her that he wanted to be friends, York Crown Court court heard.
The pair had a short-term fling before the victim decided that he wanted to be friends.
The photo of the victim’s naked body was accompanied by a mocking caption, namely “‘what the f*** is that?” and three laughing face emojis, The Scarborough News reported.
The picture was shared to more than 1,300 of Walker’s followers and remained online for 11 minutes, as reported by The Scarborough News.
The victim of the revenge porn reportedly ‘begged’ her to take the image down, which Walker agreed to when the victim threatened to tell the police.
Prosecutor Lewis Allan Kerr said: “The screenshot was of a naked image of him and posted onto [Walker’s] Instagram account.”
Prosecuting lawyer Philip Morris said the defendant “attempted, quite callously, to humiliate him,” The Scarborough News reported.
In the exchange of WhatsApp messages, Walker claimed she posted the explicit image “by mistake” and did not intend to post it on a public platform.
As reported by The Scarborough News, the defence lawyer, Graham Parkin, said that Walker had been badly attacked in a former abusive relationship, which resulted in her losing vision in one eye.
The defendant said that she “clicked the wrong button” due to her impaired vision and accidentally publicised the photo.
However, the Recorder rejected Walker’s claim pertaining to her poor eyesight.
Yesterday, the Recorder, Judge Sean Morris, said: “You have got your own problems; you have been in abusive relationships… but you know right from wrong. This kind of behaviour has to be deterred,” The Scarborough News reported.
The 30-year-old was sentenced to three months in jail.
